This is the first single for the new Mastodon album Crack the Skye which is releasing soon, and it's quite a trip. It takes the highly progressive and diverse sounds of their previous and brilliant Blood Mountain and expands upon them, adding layers of psychedelic sheen to an absolute riffgasm of a track."Divinations" is both complex and catchy. The vocals retain the mix of snarls, clear melodic vocals and best of all the more meaty doom/metal vocals with an edge to them. The production on the single is top notch so you can be assured the album will follow suit. Also included with this promotional single is an instrumental version of the track, so if you want a more psychedelic experience or just a chance to learn the riffs without the vocals you have that.
This only points to good things for the full-length, and I cannot wait for its arrival.
